I'm a big fan of storytelling. Ever since I was a little girl I've loved hearing stories in many different forms. One of my all time favorites is NPR's program This American Life. If you haven't heard of this gem, it's a weekly mostly nonfiction radio show that is hosted by Ira Glass and features essays, field reports, memoirs, short fiction and found recordings and footage. Each week the show focuses on a certain theme and the show at its core shows the grace and beauty of the human spirit. Hysterical, heartwarming and everything in between. It's hard for me to truly express my words for how much I love this show, so I will just ask that you listen to act one from recordings for someone. I'll just tell you the story involves what the listeners claim is the greatest thing ever, a voicemail message that says, and I quote "you and the little mermaid can go f**k yourselves". If that doesn't sell you on the show, I don't know what will :)
